New "Harajuku Doll" skins @ Zanzo!

Zanzo presents its funkiest skin range yet, the cutielicious "Harajuku Doll" for girls. Inspired by the wild streets of Harajuku, or more specifically the famous Harajuku Girls, this pale skin comes in 15 variations. Each pack also contains a natural "Porcelain" skin for those days where you just don't wanna wear makeup and want the clean look.

At $900, they continue Zanzo's great value for money policy and if you're a serious Harajuku Girl, we also have a discounted fatpack featuring two extra skins.

Oh yeah, we've also created six cute shapes that are fully optimized with it, for those wanting a quick H-Girl look.

"The Fae" @ Zanzo!

The gate has opened at last on Zanzo's special exhibit that we have been working on for about three (grueling) months now. Titled "The Fae", this offering was created with several things in mind.

Shopping is one of the coolest things to do in Second Life. In this world, we have the chance to look -exactly- how we please at a low cost. But often, shopping is a repetitive experience and there is little more to it than teleporting to a store, grabbing what you want, and leaving.

At Zanzo, we put great effort into presentation. You may have noticed how we theme so much, to the point that we sub-brand our products in special areas. We think shopping should have a certain ambience to it in order to make it more than a point-n-click experience.

"The Fae" is our most ambitious attempt to do that yet. It is a story-driven area where, yes, you can buy things - skins, shapes, and eyes - but you can also immerse yourself in an environment created to enhance these products. We have developed a concept and tried to put a new spin on a popular race that has many stories.

We hope you enjoy "The Fae" and would love your feedback and suggestions on it.

Strolling the Great Wall

After working so hard to finish our new range of female skins and a bunch of new shapes to go with, we've been relaxing a little in the past couple of days. Today we visited the Mao region that has a replica of the Great Wall of China filling much of an OpenSpace sim (Dru and I wondered if the Lindens' plan changes for these will deprive Second Life of another great sim). Stretching around the sim, this was a great way to relax and just roam, and with Brian Eno ambient music playing on my Winamp, I was really chilled out. The wall itself is for sale at a whopping $95,000L, which is out of my price range, but its certainly a sight to behold. Check it out!

I said several posts back that we wouldn't be releasing anything else of note before our big mystery project, but then we went and put out the "Madame de Pompadour" skin range. The amount of girls visiting Zanzo has shot up, so we've brought forward some of our female-oriented projects. Not sure what has caused the sudden influx - possibly because of popular satellite stores at Juicy Bella Plaza (now moved to Juicy Del Mar, with the Lindens' plan changes killing off another great sim) and Horst von Starlustinberg, or because of our exposure in Vain Inc., or maybe me fiddling around with keywords in our classifieds constantly. Anyway, at first Zanzo was almost 100% for guys, male visitors and male goods, but little by little we've introduced stuff for girls and much more is coming (including "Nell Gwynn", companion skins for "Madame de Pompadour", a paler skin tone with other makeup variations). Our "Pink Bubble" t-shirts and jeans have proved to be a massive success, with lots of sales, so we'll be adding more similarly themed stuff there when we get time.

We've added two Lucky Chairs to Zanzo. The main one is near the landing zone, but there is another down by the Sakura trees, opposite the sale stall. Right now, the main one has five offerings and the other has two offerings, but we plan to add more and more stuff as we get time. Included so far are a skin, eye combo, two photoboxes (great for photographs/modeling), and full outfits for guys and girls. Everything in these chairs isn't on sale in the store, so may be worth waiting around for. Here are two examples of whats on offer and what is to come (pardon the squished textures, I had to export them from SL).

New "Madame de Pompadour" skins @ Zanzo!

It has been a long time in coming, but we've finally released a new range of skins for ladies at Zanzo. Titled "Madame de Pompadour" after a famous French courtesan, they are super high quality skins that come in three lines Beauty, Metallic, and Naturals. Each pack includes a Bare and Freckled variation of your choice. At just $800L, these are hot value for money and fatpacks are available for each of the three lines. We've also released a bunch of new shapes optimized to them, so come and check 'em out!

New "Frat Boy" skins at Zanzo!

Woot! We have a brand new skin range out at Zanzo! We've released a lot of pretty boy skins, so our new set - titled "Frat Boy" - offers a less pristine but still very cute and handsome look for the young adult avatar.

The range offers seven variations: Bare, Freckly, Busted, Eyeliner, Goth, Quarterback, Inked

They cost $900L each and a discounted fatpack is also available, offering 20% full price for the lot of 'em!

This will be our last skin release before the BIG project we're working on that we estimate will feature 90... ninety... NINETY! skins (45 male, 45 female), in addition to truckloads of other stuff. Obviously, that will take a while, but we're hopeful of getting it out before Christmas time.

Scenic skies, monotony, and new skinz~!

So a lot of people apparently don't realize that not only can you create your own skies in Second Life now (and have been able to for a while), but there are also some wicked preset ones ("Sheer Surreality" being my favourite). I was messing with the settings and its really cool how much you can do - also useful for photography with the "Scene Gamma" setting, although I find turning off atmospheric shaders is still best for clothing and face shots, as I still can't find the best lighting setting with the full Windlight experience to give the face a non-shadowy or non-staring-at-the-sun appearance. Anyway, experiment with skies! World -> Environment Settings -> Environment Editor -> Advanced Sky

Running a store can lead to some very monotonous moments. We've moved to a "rack" system for most of our individual clothing items, meaning they look like this in the store...

Cool, but then one day you realize you want to put them on the web, like at Xstreet SL (the recently renamed SL Exchange), and, well... you groan at the realization that you have to get on the pose stand and reshoot a bunch of clothes you've already laboured over for hours. And that is what I've been doing lately, preparing a bunch of our stuff to go on Xstreet SL in hopes some people who don't know about our store in-world will find our stuff on there and like it enough to not only buy it, but come and visit our main store.

We're working on two - well, three, sort of - skin ranges right now. Coming soon is a stand alone set that we're calling "Frat Boy". We have skins for just about every age group under perhaps 40, and are getting more specific now - we recently released kids ones, and this set will be for the 18-24ish male type who doesn't have very mature features yet. They are looking great, and here is a preview of the base skin on a new shape I've made. We still plan to add a few details to the skin (and fix the slight nipple problem), but this is a good idea of how it'll look - sort of a bridge skin between boyish teen and mature adult, we think.

The other two ranges, male and female, are actually part of one range, related to that big project we're working on. After that, we need to kick out a new range of main female skins, as we don't think our current Nubile range is up to the standard we're capable of, which is why we're selling them off at just $200L each right now.
